Me and ACE became friends this past week when I slipped on the ice and sprained my wrist. Yep, me the one who was wishing for a White Christmas! It was quite the fall and of course the first thing I did was look up to see who may have witnessed my horrifying fall. Luckily I don't think anyone did. Due to IB Profen 800 and The American Fork Urgent Care it's feeling much better.

I'll be home for Christmas....
not as quickly as
I thought though!
A brief description of our travels home to Utah~ Leave Memphis for Little Rock a day early because of Ice storms, stay in Little Rock for a night, leave a day later from the Little Rock airport for SLC with a Las Vegas layover, Captain gets on the intercom "Sorry folks we'll be diverting to LAX due to weather in Vegas. WHAT???? When was the last time it snowed in Vegas? Get off plane, get in a line of 185 people to get reconnected, wait in that line for 3 1/2 hours, no food, tired kids, tired Mom, people butting in lines, Hmmmm....where's our luggage?, Where's Dave when I need him?, A SLC flight leaving in 10 minutes, still 45 people in front of us, Missionary couple tries to get us all on the SLC flight, they succeed, YAY Mormon missionaries, Mom and kids rush to gate, get on, kids sleep on plane, arrive in SLC an hour later, Grandma Shauna's there to greet us and finally luggage is found! HOORAY, we made it. I was having flashbacks of my Mexico City experience. At least this time we were in the states where MOST everyone speaks English.
We are now home for Christmas!

Christmas Festivities and
packing too!
As of last night I decided I really needed to put my calling, school, and shopping aside and start working on my 2 page "to do" list. All of the sudden I realized I have 2 days to pack, get laundry done, clean the house, get packages wrapped, ship my stuff out~ FEDEX of course, celebrate Dave's birthday, visit teach, and the list goes on.....Good thing I'm Superwoman! Really though as women I think we have all been given a special talent, it's called multi-tasking.
Thank goodness for that!
With all of the hustle and bustle of the Holidays we still seem to find time for B-day parties, gingerbread house making, lunch with friends, Enrichment, basketball, and parties with neighbors and Ward family.

Cara and Carson celebrate
their Birthdays!
We've spent the past week celebrating birthdays. It has all felt like a week long party. Cara turned 5 on the 1st, and Carson turned 9 on the 8th. They had a bowling party, neighbor kids over for cake, cupcakes at school and playgroup, and root beer floats with the family. Cara chose to have her birthday dinner at RedRobin, and Carson chose Buffalo Wild Wings. It's been a fun week, but Mommy is spent. I can hardly sit down and relax lately. My money and my brain are going, going, going, gone!
Okay so I haven't been this cold for a while. The last time I felt this cold was when I was up at Utah State. What the heck is up with the weather??? I don't even remember wearing more than a jacket last Christmas. I'll take thick, wet, icky, snow over this any day! Speaking of snow, I've been talking up a "White Utah Christmas" to my kids for a while, so hopefully that's what we get. Come on Mother Nature don't leave us dissapointed!

Collierville Christmas Parade

I can't feel my toes....
Really though even a day later, I think they're still defrosting. I haven't been that cold in a long time. Last night was our cities Christmas parade. Besides the fact that it was a whopping 29 degrees outside, making it feel like 19 because of the humidity, we really did have a good time. I rode on the float with the boys and funny how I was the only Mom to do so. They've obviously got brains and sent their husbands. I love parades though and I wanted to be a part of it. Plus it was a good reason to spend alone time with Carson. We had a great time and it was a great way to get our Christmas festivities started. From now until Christmas my calendar is booked.
Hmmmm....funny how the coach and dad's ended up in the heated car. Just shows that women are stronger! HAHA
Below is a slide show of Carson and I just being silly! We waited 1 1/2 hours for the parade to start, so we had to pass the time somehow.
