CaraAnn~Star of the Week

This was Cara's "STAR" week. Of course she (I) had to make the traditional getting to know you poster that we all get to make for each one of our kids. We decided on black, white, and yellow, because she's definitely "busy as a bee". This beautiful girl of ours is so fun to have around. We are constantly entertained by her energy. She's definitely our "SHINING STAR"!

Just SOME of Cara's favorites~Pizza, fries, wings, purses, makeup, Taylor Swift, clothes, her tall black boots, soccer, Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana, watermelon, taking pics with Mom's cell phone, dogs, Christmas, "So You Think You Can Dance", riding bikes with her best buddy Tyler, her LDS faith, and candy!

This has been our life lately, RAIN AND FOOTBALL! Our life right now revolves around sports. I never thought I would be going to so many sporting events, and they're all in the rain. UGH! Carson practices 3 nights a week with 2 games on the other nights, Dave has softball on Thursday nights, and Cara has soccer on Friday nights. What that means is we play a sport of some kind every night except Sunday. Don't get me wrong, I love it! Ryleigh and I are full time cheerleaders. Just so I make sure I have cash in pocket for my bag of popcorn and my Diet Coke, I'm pretty content. I love this "soccer mom" lifestyle!

Last weekend I headed up to Montana to help my sister Alyson and her hubby Greg out with their latest project. They have decided to open up a roasted nut company for the Holidays which they've named "Completely Nuts". I could tell my sister was completely stressed and she needed my help. My Mom joined me up there and we worked for two complete days. They're located in the Billings Mall. We painted, puttied, built, cleaned, babysat, and got some good "nutty" jokes in. Unfortunately I was flying stand-by so I had to end my trip short since the flights were all completely full. I hate not being able to help my sisters out when they're having down times and their lives seem completely crazy. I hope they know I'm always thinking about them though and wish only the best for "Completely Nuts".

On Saturday the 10th we celebrated the one year birthday of our angel up above, Claire Elizabeth. I wasn't sure how to celebrate so we just decided to get a small birthday cake and sing "Happy Birthday". I wanted to just keep it small and simple. The kids thought is was special and it gave them a moment to celebrate their sister that they will one day meet. I think next year I may try to come up with a special tradition that just our family shares on that day. I want you all to know that I'm doing just fine. I thank you all for your sweet posts on my facebook. I try not to dwell on the negative in my life, but just look towards the positive. Like Sister Hinckley said "The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache." Through the examples and love we have in our lives we are truly blessed.

Welcoming in the new 777

On Saturday we had the opportunity of going out to FedEx (which we're never allowed to do) to celebrate the arrival of their new Triple 7 airplane. This was a pretty big deal for the company. This plane will be able to fly from Memphis to Asia direct. This is great for the company and in the end great for our family! Of course after the plane landed, CEO and founder of FedEx, Fred Smith (above in tan hat) was the first man who exited the airplane. It was pretty cool to finally put a face to the name. That is one very rich man. haha!
Dave loves to have as much quality time at home with his family as he can, so he most likely will stay on the 757 for now keeping him domestic. It was a cold day but totally worth it. The kids had so much fun getting to see where their Dad works and the planes he has and is flying. Who knows maybe we'll have another pilot come out of this family. We'll see!

Friday was Cara's "Clown Day" at school. As you can tell from the pic above, Cara was not lovin' it. She was so excited and then when I showed her what she looked like in the mirror she freaked! She walked up to school with her head down to the ground the whole time and then I had to pretty much throw her in her classroom. I was bummed out. I thought Cara would be one for dressing up....maybe just not clowns. As we all know, clowns are a little freaky anyways!
