Girls Camp 2009
Yay, I made it through camp. I had a great time this year (as I always do). I actually served in the kitchen this year. It turned out to be a perfect assignment for me. I'm a little A.D.D. so always having something to do is a good thing. It was exhausting but definitely had it's positives. Who can complain about being around food all day long...not me!
Above: My friends Kristen and Erika and I, the adult leaders watching the girls play water games, and what's girls camp without hair braiding!
Yep, those were the size of bugs we were sleeping with UGH! The 92 degrees is for real. That was the temp in the kitchen we were working in and that's not even counting the humidity. Here are some of my girls in their cute tye-dyed shirts, and above is all of the adult leaders from my Collierville Ward.
My friend Laurie and some of our YW made those torch cookies...so cute! And that's Marianne showing us the "torched" bacon....whoops!
Some of my girls~ I love these YW to pieces!

Wedding weekend in Houston
We had a wonderful time in Houston, yes it was definitely hot but worth every bead of sweat. We had 3 full days of fun. We took the wave runners out on Lake Conroe, swam at the condo pool, ate lots of yummy food, and enjoyed the beautiful wedding ceremony of Jenny and Ryan. My kids had a blast with their cousins and Dave and I always enjoy being around his family. We're excited to have Jenny in our family and wish the both of them a huge congratulations!
(The slideshow below is of our weekend. I have it set super fast because I took tons of pics!)

Marlins-Season Champions!
Carson's baseball season has officially come to an end. Man it was a loooong season. We've been playing for almost 4 months now. Carson is definitely a ball player. He eats this sport up. We've had a great season and ended as the season champions. Carson had a wonderful coach and we made some really great family friends too. We had our last game, had 22 hours in between, and Carson was off to his first football practice. Whoever said sports in the South were everything.....wasn't exaggerating!
They played their last game in the rain....it didn't make for a great game but it was entertaining watching the fans run for cover.

So I think I've lost 5lbs. of sweat this summer just watering my flowers. It's a pain and it's so hot and humid but I love the end result.

T-ball season comes to an end...
Cara had a great time playing T-ball this year. She learned a little about the game, drew lots pictures in the sand with her cleats, drank lots of Gatorade's, and when it was time for her to hit and run she ran her little heart out. T-ball for Cara was definitely a "HIT"!

Pioneer Trek
The Trek was awesome and I'm so proud of the youth for coming with good attitudes and leaving with the same. Unfortunately, due to weather, the Trek ended a day early. I got the call late last night to let the parents know that their kids were coming home. I know they were scared, stressed, and nervous all at the same time, but I'm so happy they had a wonderful time up until the storm. I'm grateful for these kiddos!
(pics from before the storm below)

We seriously went from this
....to this, within one hour!
Living in Tornado Ally can be a little scary at times. This storm started and was over within minutes. It was the craziest thing, the kids were swimming and I was out cutting the grass when all of the sudden we were hit with this. The tornado sirens went off and we hit the closet. I've been here for 3 1/2 years and have never seen anything come in this fast. Luckily we are still with power unlike some of our neighbors who have been without for a day. The words "being prepared" definitely filled our minds last night. We feel very blessed to be safe in our sweet little town of Collierville.

Cara makes me laugh....I don't know if T-ball is her thing~Not because she's not good but she's bored. She's like me, she needs to constantly be on the "go". One thing I can say about Cara is she is so fast. I don't know where my kids get their speed from but they're all runners. Regardless of her boredom, she's having fun and is always a good team player.

As Ryleigh would say...This is "J"
my bestest buddy. Is that not the
cutest little duo!
"The General" with
President Uchtdorf
This picture was in the Church news last week. Here's "The General" (my Dad) presenting President Uchtdorf with the minuteman statue. Pretty neato! I'm sure that was a moment he'll never forget.
FYI
