Tom's Farm

Thanks to our good friend, "party planner Brandon", we had a great night hanging out at Tom's Farm. It was a beautiful night and so fun just to sit around the campfire, eat yummy food, and just hang with good friends. The kids have so much fun being with their friends from church, they've become family to our kids and I'm so grateful for that.

This bottom picture is a little scary of Carson. These boys were being such goof balls. I was just so happy to have some boys for Carson to play with though. So many of my girlfriends I hang out with don't have boys so it was a good change for him. These three went into the haunted maze and Carson was the only one to make it the whole way through...Every time I heard a chainsaw I thought of him and wondered how long he'd make it. Good job buddy, you definitely DON'T take after your mom. I hate that kind of stuff!!! A big thanks to my sister Alyson for helping me out that night....you made it lots easier.

Cedar Hills Farm~Hernando, Mississippi

We were lucky to have my sister Alyson in town for the weekend. We didn't get her for long but I was happy to have whatever time with her that I could. My friend Amy, Alyson, and I took the kids to Cedar Hills farm. I had never been there before and it's about 45 minutes away so I was so grateful when we pulled up and knew it was worth the drive. It was so cute...it reminded me a lot of the pumpkin farm they have on "Little People Big World". The kids had a blast and even little Evan I think enjoyed himself. I love this time of year. Fall festivities are the best and smell the best too!!!

6 Weeks old
Isn't he the cutest thing!!! We just love this little guy. It's been so much fun having a little one in the house. He is such a good baby. He's already getting so big and I feel like I have to cherish everyday with him....because as we've all heard many, many times~they grow up so fast!!! We're just lovin our little Evan!!!

Michael Oher Jr.So last Saturday Carson's football team played Briarcrest, which is the private school that Micheal Oher from "The Blindside" attended here in Memphis. We got to the game and all I could see was this huge kid, #51, on the other team. He was a giant! The pictures really don't do his size justice. Dave informed me right away that we were playing Micheal Oher jr. (he of course was joking but it looked just like him). I thought oh gosh who do they have that can block him....well suprisingly enough, what do they do....oh yes, send in #20, MY SON!!! Now keep in mind Carson is the size of the kids standing next to Oher jr. I was so proud of Carson. He didn't let #51's size get to him at all. He did exactly as he was supposed to and went right for the legs. Good job buddy....wasn't sure we were going to make it out of that game alive. Go Collierville/Houston Mustangs!!!

No more complaining to Dave....

well at least about the backyard.

I've been complaining to Dave about our backyard for about 2 years straight now. When we bought this house it had a coi pond in the backyard that ran from one side of the yard to the other~(wish I would have taken before pics). In my mind I could always fix it up, plant lots of flowers, and enjoy the sounds of the pond...however it does get to be super hot here in the summer and my big plans just went down the drain. I would always have good intentions of keeping it up in the spring and then I would let it go in the summer because I physically just couldn't take working outdoors in the heat. You can tell by the nice shade of brown in our grass just how hot this past summer was/is. A few weeks ago our dog got pretty sick and we think it's because he was drinking the unclean water in the coi pond. So I finally used that to my benefit and got the thing out of here. With the help of our little friend Omar, the pond was taken out, replaced by mulch and sod, and hauled off by the garbage man all within a weeks work. So happy to have that stupid pond out. Now my husband and friends out here won't have to hear about it anymore.

Kindergarten Zoo Fieldtrip

Evan and I decided to take our first fieldtrip together to the zoo last week. Ryleigh really wanted me to come and I thought this would be the perfect school outing with a new baby. The kids would be so into the animals that they wouldn't want to put their "paws" all over Evan. It was a beautiful day and the most perfect zoo weather.
Ryleigh has become such a little leader recently. I think it's been since her little brother came along. She's had a sudden change in personality. I really noticed it at the zoo. She was so full of energy and so loud. My shy little Ryleigh has disappeared!!!

This is Cessar...but I'm thinking by his beautiful tan skin it's really Ceasar. Ryleigh keeps talking about her new boyfriend Cessar. I couldn't wait to meet this little guy I've heard so much about and look at what a little cutie he is. Ryleigh was hugging all over him. Yikes....lets hope the touchy feely thing eases off with age. As for right now though, it's very cute!

Ryleigh may look happy in this picture but she was totally the opposite. She hated dressing up as a clown for Kindergarten Clown Day. She started to cry on her way to school and told me everyone was going to make fun of her. I was frantically telling her to stop crying or her make-up was going to bleed. She wiped her eyes, I walked her to school, and her teacher was at the door to greet her. Thankfully her teacher was dressed up, or I think we would have had a sad clown....and nobody likes a sad clown. The kids all looked adorable and I think Ryleigh is now a fan of clown day.
