The Dog Days of Summer
Well it's definitely been a hot one and we rarely go outside unless we have to but one thing I just can't get away from no matter how hot is yard work. I love it!!! I crave it in the spring and can't wait for the colors to make their first appearances. My friend Heidi in my last neighborhood taught me so much and I think of her every time my flowers start to bloom.
The new trend around here is yard art--there's pinwheels and chinese lanterns all around and I love them. We decided to put a sandbox in and word to the wise---don't do it. HUGE mess!!!

Team Collierville 2011
TC 11's NABF World Series Runner-ups
I have about 200 pictures of baseball but to spare you all the boredom I just posted some favorites. This was our first year playing competitive baseball and we had a "Ball". I say "our first year" because it really does become a family effort. Dave did great at getting Carson to all of his practices, the girls were the best little cheerleaders, and Evan was just as good as he could be. I complain about ball at times, but there's really no other place I'd rather be on a Friday night. I never thought I could love watching sports so much, but when your kid plays and has talent it becomes addicting. We knew with Carson being the new guy on a team that has been playing together for years that he would have to work hard to prove himself and that he did. He started the season sitting on the bench and batting last and ended the season as second batter and pitching a complete game. Carson has more motivation and drive than Dave and I put together and we couldn't be prouder!!!

Camping at Chickasaw State Park
I thought (know) Dave had lost his mind when he told me he was taking the kids camping in this hot and humid Tennessee weather but he swore to me they were going and that they would be fine. So I thought a night to myself....heck yeah you're going camping!!!! Dave and the kids (minus Evan of course) loaded up and headed out to Chickasaw State Park. They loved it...Heat aside they had a wonderful time. They hiked, made S'mores, Foil dinners, told ghost stories, went swimming in the lake, caught frogs, and had hourly visits from their friend Mr. Raccoon. I'm glad they had such a good time. This was Cara and Ryleigh's first time and they can't wait to go back. Next time Evan and I hope to join them...we didn't think the little guy would do so well with the heat and bugs. Yay for making memories with just their DAD!!!!

Hoopin' it up---JORDAN style!!!
Congrats to Kevin and Deidre!!!
Dave's youngest brother Kevin got married a few months ago....I wasn't able to make it out to the wedding but I stole this picture from Deidre so I could share it on my blog. So this is Dave and his brothers Ryan, Kevin, and Scott---unfortunately his brother Danny is serving over sea's and was not able to make it. We're so happy for Kevin and we can't wait to get to know Deidre better. I've been so blessed to get 4 very perfect (no drama) sister in laws. Kevin is the baby in the family so HOORAY for my in-laws.....YOU'RE FREE!!!!!!
