~SAYING GOODBYE TO PAPA~
What a guy...Words will never express the love and gratitude I have for this man. How lucky was I to be able to be his granddaughter, his family, one of the loves and joys of his life.
As soon as I heard that the ugly "C" word had taken over his body, I knew I needed to get out to Utah fast to say my goodbyes. I'm so grateful I listened to my gut and went fast. I loved having a few last moments with him and being able to say goodbye, lay in bed with him, squeeze him tight and tell him I love him.
It was a beautiful ceremony...My brother Reiley gave a beautiful prayer, reminding us of the Plan of Salvation. What a blessing it is to have a testimony of that. Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I know without a doubt that I WILL see my grandfather again.
It's amazing the resemblance I see in my kids. Evan even looks at Papa's picture and says "that's Evan"....I love it!!
I wish it was under different circumstances but it's always good to be surrounded by family. Because of this great man, I have more family than one person deserves. I was also blessed to have Dave's parents support us and attend the funeral. Below is a picture of my Mom and my Grandma Elene. She has also been diagnosed with cancer. We are all praying for her daily. Hoping that she will fight this and praying that she will be comforted. I've been blessed with wonderful people in my life. Both my Grandma Elene and Papa are at the top of that list. XOXO!!
